How it all began

Soul sisters, Darcy Simonson and Sheila Sornsin, have been friends for more than a decade. For at least half of that friendship, they dreamt about starting a business that used their talents in a way that would inspire and connect women. They brainstormed everything from owning a clothing and gift store, creating a gathering galleria, developing an online friendship connection service, and finally starting an inspirational magazine.

Timing was just not right for these entrepreneurial spirits to pursue their dreams, and believing that everything happens for a reason and in divine order, they let them go.

Shortly thereafter, The Grateful Goddess was born. Under the umbrella of The Grateful Goddess, all their ideas fell beautifully into place and the duo was almost effortlessly able to move mountains in creation of the business – naming the company, designing the logo, forming the LLC, creating art and producing product, setting up the finances and marketing materials –all within two weeks, in time to launch The Grateful Goddess at a holistic expo. People at the expo commented that it looked like The Grateful Goddess had been in business for at least two years; it did, because the bits and pieces that became The Grateful Goddess had incubated in Darcy and Sheila’s thoughts and dreams for at least that long.

It has been three years since the inception of The Grateful Goddess and we continue to grow and evolve in this journey called life. Darcy has since been certified in past life regressions and hypnosis and has spread her wings to her own business, Insights with Darcy. Sheila continues the original intention and mission of The Grateful Goddess.

The mission of The Grateful Goddess is to raise the consciousness of joyful living through art, gifts and gatherings. Our intention is to inspire women to live authentically by creating meaningful connections with others and sharing inspirational messages in gratitude, compassion, forgiveness, presence, and many other goddess qualities. The Grateful Goddess was born of women with grateful hearts, who believe in order to realize one’s dreams, we must first be grateful for what has been and what is.

Inspired by a popular pastel art series by Darcy Simonson, Darcy and her friend, Sheila Sornsin, co-created a whimsical gift line, with gentle, inspiring and empowering messages celebrating the goddess within women of all ages.

The Grateful Goddess is designed to help every woman discover and celebrate her goddess within. While some women will recognize her goddess immediately, others may question her existence. Is it, after all, possible to be a goddess without perfect skin and clothes, or a perky disposition? Absolutely!
